Obituary of Kathy Lea Ostrander
Kathy Ostrander, age 65, of Vassar, died Friday, June 1, 2018, at her home. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2018, at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, cremation will follow. Family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Caro Senior Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Kathy was born November 23, 1952, in Saginaw, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Royden Earl and Barbara (Stuart) Ostrander. She worked at General Motors as an assembly worker for thirty years, and would go on to become a member of the UAW #632. In her free time, she enjoyed admiring the flowers that grew in her yard, volunteering at the Caro Senior Center, and travelling to Arizona and Lake George with her family and friends. Kathy was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, and enjoyed attending all of their baseball games and powerlifting competitions. She also loved the sun, moon, and stars.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Christopher (Ann) Ostrander; two grandchildren: Alexis and Ryan Ostrander; two siblings: Dan (Jeanne) Ostrander, and Kim (Jolynn) Ostrander; brother-in-law Dave Miller; special friend Faith Mcgeshick-Cook; and several nieces, nephews, and family members.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Royden and Barbara; and her sister Debbie Miller.
