Obituary of David Bruce Vaughn
David B “Big Daddy” Vaughn, of Swartz Creek, age 61, died May 20, 2018, at his home. The funeral service will take place, 1:00 pm Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris; with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. David’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Friday, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm. On Saturday morning, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm.
David was born on November 28, 1956, in Flint, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Winfred and Frances (Olds) Vaughn. He and Jaqueline Matthews were united in marriage on August 4, 1990. David worked as a corrections officer and worked as a police officer for General Motors. In his free time, David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan as well as U of M.
David leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jacqueline; daughters: Laura and husband, Maurice Poffenbarger, and Jennifer and husband, Bob Adams; grandchildren: Danielle and husband, Matthew, Lindsay, Zack, Corey, Makenzie; great-grandchildren: Carson, Alivia, and Emma; sister Laurie Anne Ronan; niece, Amanda Ronan; special friends, Rod and wife, Deb Winters, and John Lester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his granddaughter Samantha.
Per David’s request, everyone in attendance should be dressed casually in jeans.
