Virginia was born September 7, 1925, in Mancelonia, Michigan to the late Roy and Nellie (Lakies) Miller. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1944. Virginia was united in marriage to Elwin McClain on July 22, 1944. Sadly, Elwin preceded her in death on December 3, 2000. She would stay home to raise her three children. Virginia loved spending time with her family and her many grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, yard work and playing cards. She was a member of the former Calvary Bible Church and card club with her friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her 3 children: Linda and husband, Les Robbins, Larry and wife, Kathy McClain, Elwin Gary McClain and husband, Gil Ponsones; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elwin, grandson, Brent Carrie McClain, brother, Jerry Miller, and sister, Genevieve Scholl.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Virginia’s caregivers: Jenny, Robin and Beth; very special granddaughter: Megan McClain; great-granddaughter: Brooklyn Villarreal; and Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and compassion.
