Obituary of Martha Jo Hascall (Staley)

Martha Jo Hascall (Staley), age 76, of Mayville, died March 27, 2018, at Marlette Community Hospital. The funeral service celebrating Martha’s life will take place 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar. Pastor Roger Hazen will officiate with cremation to follow. Martha’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at ­­­1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to United Hospice Services in Marlette, Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Martha was born August 29, 1941, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Earl and Doris (Delisle) Staley. Martha married Joseph Hascall on September 20, 1958, in Columbiaville, Michigan. Sadly, he preceded her in death on September 6, 2015. Martha worked as a nurse’s aide for Fisher’s Convalescent Home in Mayville, Michigan. In her free time, she enjoyed, spending time with her family, playing Bingo, watching the Detroit Tigers and her pets.

Left to cherish her memory are seven children: Lori (Dwight) Linder, Clare (Kathleen) Hascall, Catherine (Keith) DuBois, Judith Hascall, Joseph Hascall, Jr., Mark Hascall and Kimberley (Leroy) Amend ; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Dale, Fred and Della; and special friends Fred (Doris) Grover and Marie De Line.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hascall, parents, grandson, Vincent DuBois, two sisters, Darleen and Molly, and three brothers, Earl, Lloyd, and Robert.
