Obituary of Peggy "Peg" Averill
Age 81, of Flint, died March 8, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. The funeral service will be held at Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute Services-Grand Blanc, on March 10, 2018, at 1:00 pm, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family.
Peggy was born August 20, 1936, in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late Mr. Glen Parker and Mrs. Hazel “Nana” Ayers. She and James Averill were united in marriage in Indiana. Sadly, he preceded her in death on June 26, 2006. Peggy worked as a cafeteria worker for the local schools and volunteered at Beecher Community Schools. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, gardening, and shopping at thrift stores with her daughters. She will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory, are children: Patricia and husband, Tom Coulter, John and wife, Shari Averill and James “Jimbo” and wife Cherie Averill; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Robert “Doug” Averill, and daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Wolodkin.
