Obituary of Dorothy "Dot" Phillips
Age 100, of Caro, formerly of Fairgrove, died Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Satchell‘s Christian Retirement Home in Caro. She was born November 22, 1917, in Manistique the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto and Bertha (Bernard) Laux. She married Curtis Laverne Phillips on July 13, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Dorothy is survived by her children: William and Diane Dowell of Clio, Robert and Karen Phillips of Fairgrove, Dennis Phillips of Hessel, grandchildren: Mark and wife, Deanna Vaughan of Clio, Blake Vaughan of Lansing, Chadwick and wife, Denise Phillips of Lansing, Bradley and wife, Nova Phillips of Shenzhen, China, Robert and wife, Keri Phillips of Delaware, Ohio, Nathan and Caley Phillips of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren: Ryan and Brandon Vaughan of Swartz Creek, Braeden and Robbie Phillips of Shenzhen, China, and Greyson Phillips of Delaware, Ohio; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her seven siblings.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 9, 2018, at St. Christopher Parish in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the church at 10:00 am until the time of service. Fr. Jerzy Dobosz officiating with burial to follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the donor’s choice.
