Obituary of Donald Hunter Wolverton
Donald Hunter Wolverton, age 84, of Reese, died Sunday, February 4, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will take place Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care or Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Donald was born November 24, 1933, in Fairgrove, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Firman and Maggie (Hunter) Wolverton. He graduated from Fairgrove High School with the class of 1952. Donald and Dolores Ramsden were married on May 18, 1956, at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. He worked for Caro Regional Center for 41 and a half years as an attendant nurse and in transportation. In his free time, Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, farming, and visiting McDonald in the mornings. On the side, Donald liked to work on many vehicles for family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dolores; son: Donald M. and wife Laura Wolverton; three grandchildren: Shaun, Eric, and Marie.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: CR Wolverton, Frances Morris, Mary Jean Knudsen, and twin brother Harold Wolverton; father and mother-in-law: Richard and Marie Ramsden; and brother-in-law: Richard G. Ramsden.
