Obituary of Ronald Clare Knickerbocker
Ronald Clare Knickerbocker, age 89, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Gross Assisted Living of Clio. A funeral service will take place Friday, January 5th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Mt. Morris Community Church. Rev. Vince Messina will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 4th, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and again Friday morning at church one hour prior to services. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Ronald was born October 17, 1928, in Mt. Morris, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clare and Fern (Montague) Knickerbocker. He and Betty Drudge were united in marriage on August 9, 1952, in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ronald worked as a farmer for many years, until his retirement in the year of 2010. In his free time, Ronald was actively involved with the building and operations of Mt. Morris Community Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty; daughter: Janet and husband, Martin Cousineau; grandchildren: Michelle Graham, Craig Knickerbocker, Tyler Cousineau, Eric Cousineau nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Sparkman.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Fern; son, Douglas Knickerbocker; Grandson, Aaron Cousineau; and his brothers, Bruce and Harold Knickerbocker.
