Obituary of Dorothy May Bliss

Mrs. Dorothy Bliss passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Brian's House at the age of 70. Dorothy was the youngest child of the late Stephen and Anna (Kosa) Benson and was born May 16, 1938 in Fairgrove. She was a fun and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed by all. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 54 years, James Leon Bliss; three children, Mr. and Mrs. Ricky and Debbie Bliss of Mesquite, NV, Ms. Mary Anne Bliss and partner John Tanger IV of Yorba Linda, CA and Mr. and Mrs. James and Glenda Bliss, Jr. of Lincoln Park; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher and Val Bliss of Aliso Viego, CA, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett and Michele Shea-han of Portland, OR and Nicole and James L. Bliss III of Long Beach, CA; great-grandchildren, Ava Bliss of Aliso Viego, CA and Ronan and Miles Shea-han of Portland, OR; sister, Lottie and husband Don Mautren; sisters-in-law, Joyce Benson and Margaret "Sister" Bell; brothers-in-law, Flip Bliss, Alvin Bliss, Fuzz Coleman and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Betty Bliss. Dorothy is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth, Buster and Jack Benson and sisters, Mary Frye and Addie Coleman. Dorothy's funeral will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Martin Funeral Home Aa" Fairgrove. Pastor Leonard Astrowski will officiate with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Her family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
