Obituary of Francisco "Kiko" Espinoza
Age 78, of Genesee, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Hurley Medical Center. The Funeral Mass will take place Monday, December 4, 2017, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Fr. Tim Nelson to officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Francisco’s family will receive friends at the church, on Sunday from 2:30 pm until 8:00 pm; Sunday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the church.
Francisco was born December 3, 1938, in Weslaco, Texas, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ramόn and Severiana (Saldaña) Espinoza. Francisco married the love of his life, Linda Mosqueda on November 4, 1988. He worked as a Fork Truck Operator for General Motors for 33 years until retiring in 1999. He was a long-time member of UAW Local # 599 and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In his free time, Francisco enjoyed spending time with his family and good friends.
Left to cherish his memory: wife of 29 years, Linda (Mosqueda) Espinoza; five daughters: Mariana Espinoza, Maricela (Greg) Garcia, Francisca (José) Portillo, Lucila (Ramiro) Almanza and Silvia (Franklin) Mayers; six sons: Jimmy (Kathy) Espinoza, Javier (Kirsten) Espinoza, Jesús Espinoza, Tomàs Tello, Mario Espinoza and Carlos Espinoza; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters: Carmen (Kiko) Alaniz, María (Cliofas) Martinez, Lile Jaramillo and Vita (Arturo) Guajardo, two brothers: Ramon (Carmen) Espinoza and Jorge (Sherry) Espinoza; “adopted daughters” Heidi Busker, Juanita Alvarado and Ava Reed; sister-in-law: Mary Mosqueda; long-time friend Henry Luna; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Francisco was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Martin and Santos Espinoza.
