Obituary of Marjorie Arlene Boughen
Marjorie Arlene Boughen, 84, died October 11, 2017, at McLaren Hospital, in Flint Michigan. A funeral celebrating Marjorie’s life will take place 11:00 am, Monday, October 16, 2017, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Reverend Cathi Huvaere will officiate with burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Saturday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on Monday, at the church, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of the contributor’s choice.
Marjorie (Marty) was born November 5, 1932, in Flint Michigan, to Mr. & Mrs. Ross W. Keith and Alma Keith. She lived most of her life between Montrose and Mt. Morris Townships, graduating as Valedictorian from Beecher High School in 1950. Marjorie attended various universities, including Central Michigan University, University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University, receiving various degrees throughout her education. She was a member of the Clio Golf Course for over 59 years. She married Malcolm Wright Boughen on January 15, 1955, and has celebrated over 62 years of marriage. Marjorie worked as a teacher for over 30 years in the Westwood Heights School District but started as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Clio. Marty was known for her artistic work in design and sewing, along with her love for cooking and gardening.
She is survived by Husband, Malcolm, Daughter Lorrie Gelenger with husband Stephen and Granddaughter Miranda Schulte and husband Brandon along with beloved family and friends.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her father and mother Ross and Avis Keith, mother Alma and Sister Doris and Ed Koch.
