Obituary of Vaughn Willard Pinney
Age 67, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, October 7, 2017, at his home. The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until time of service. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family.
Vaughn was born October 14, 1949, in Flint, Michigan the son of Willard and Mabel (Shenkel) Pinney. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1968. Vaughn proudly served in the U.S Navy. He worked for AC Spark Plug for over 32 years. After retiring, he worked at VG’s in Clio and was a dispatcher for the Clio Fire Department. Vaughn was a very caring person and spent a lot of his time working at his church and spending time with the youth group. He enjoyed going for long drives, walking his best friend, Max, his dog, and riding his bike. He road with the Wandering Wheels and biked from California to Maine. He was a man of many accomplishments.
Left to cherish his memory are children: Curtis Pinney and a daughter; grandchildren: Spencer and David; siblings: Jack Pinney, Sara Novak, Valerie Carah (twin sister) and Dawn Murphy; special friends: Andrew Joseph, Aron Rose (who snuck him candy bars), and Lester and Jean (who brought him donuts every Friday), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend, Max, the dog.
