Obituary of David Michael LePard

Age 71, of Flint, died Monday, September 25, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. A funeral celebrating David’s life will take place on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Bishop Birdie Goodson to officiate with burial to follow in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 29, 2017, at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.  

David was born May 1, 1946, in Corunna, Michigan, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Warren and Marion (Taylor) Lepard.  He attended Beecher High School. David proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He and Connie Blankenship were united in marriage on December 12, 1970, in Beecher, Michigan. He retired from General Motors Buick City as a Machine Operator in 2007 and He worked as a Fire Fighter for the Mt. Morris Township Fire Department for 38 years. David loved spending time with his family, studying the bible and traveling to West Virginia. In his free time, David enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by many.  

Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Connie Lepard; three daughters: Jeanette Lepard, Susan (Tearis) Cooper and Marsha (Willie) Jeffries; eight grandchildren: Tearis Cooper Jr., Jukarri Cooper, Kalyjia Patten, Kyzel Lepard, Jaylin Jeffries, Willie Jeffries Jr., Juliana Jeffries and Cheyenne Lepard; five step-grandchildren: Quiayejia Cooper, Jazzmyn Cooper, Nichayla Cooper, Tyre Davenport and Jordan Jeffries; one great-grandchild: Braxton Lepard; one brother: Albert Lepard; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald.
