Obituary of Larry Lee Henry
Age 87, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, September 16, 2017, at McLaren Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning to officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors present. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Thursday morning Larry will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am. A Rosary will take place on Wednesday evening at the funeral home at 6:00 pm. Memorial Contributions may be directed in Larry’s name to St. Mary Catholic Church and School, American Legion Post 158 Clio, Michigan or a charitable organization of your choice.
Larry was born September 1, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence and Matie (Lamb) Henry. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1949. Larry and Joyce “Jeane” LaFreniere were united in marriage on October 6, 1951, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. He retired from General Motors AC Spark Plug as a tinsmith. Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He loved traveling the United States and Canada with his family. In his free time, Larry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and yard working. Larry will be greatly missed by many.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Jeane Henry; 4 children: Chris (Phyllis) Henry, Debra (Michael) Wing, Collie Cavanaugh and Randy Henry; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: William (Diane) Henry and Gerald (Debi) Henry; and many relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, son Joseph Henry, brother Richard Henry, and sister Patricia Tilley.
