Sam was one of the nicest people I ever met. He helped me and encouraged me so much when my ex-husband (Del Engler) had brain damage from a car accident. I never saw Sam when he wasn't smiling. Even when, in recent years, we compared our Cancer journeys, he was so full of hope. He knew wholeheartedly that, win or lose that battle, he was going to be all right. He knew God would take care of him. Sam was truly a blessing to everyone who knew him. Rest in God's arms, my friend. You will be missed.

My Uncle Sam, There will never be another like him. He was a father to the fatherless, a brother to the brotherless, a friend to the friendless and made an enemy have a change of heart. He and his wife ensured that the widowed were cared for. He traveled near and far, making friends along the way. He really believed that to make friends you must show yourself friendly! He was loved by the masses and his legacy will live on through many.......

I'm so sad to hear this. Heaven has surely gained another beautiful angel. We are going to miss Sam greatly...seeing his smileing face @ the post office & grocery store.
