Obituary of Barbara A. (Holliman) Simmonds
Age 62, of Clio, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at her home with her family at her side. The Memorial Mass will take place 10:30 am, July 1, 2017, at the SS. Charles & Helena Church. Rev. Ken Coughlin officiating. In accordance with Barbara’s family, cremation has taken place. Barbara’s family will gather at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Friday, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm; Friday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. On Saturday morning, the family will gather at SS. Charles & Helena Church in Clio from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 10:30 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Barbara was born September 27, 1954, in Camden, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Ida Bell (Gill) Holliman. She married Bert Simmonds on October 31, 1975, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint. Barbara had a strong spiritual faith. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, flowers, gardening, listening to music, completing crossword puzzles, and watching movies.
Left to cherish her memory, husband, Bert Simmonds; four children: D’Langelo Simmonds, Hosai Simmonds, Bert Simmonds III, and Bertina (Carl) Jones; grandchildren: Brianna, D’layna, D’Ahnna, Terron, Donovan, Jesse, Peyton, and Michaela; sisters: Frances, and Louise; brother, Bobby; and many other family members and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, and numerous siblings.
