Obituary of Theresa D. (Neumann) Sturgill
Age 63, of Flint, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at U of M Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 16, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau officiating with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Theresa’s family will be present at the Martin Funeral Home on Thursday, to receive friends from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm; Thursday evening, family friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. On Friday morning, Theresa will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Theresa was born May 16, 1954, in Flint, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Giles and Ardele (Lavigne) Neumann. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School, with the class of 1972. She worked for General Motors for 17 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of UAW Local #651 and past member of the Auto City Eagles. On April 8, 1995, she married Randy Sturgill in Cozumel, Mexico. She was a proud military mother that loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren, boating in Tawas, camping, and listening to music. She also liked going to the casino and playing Facebook games.
Left to cherish her memory, husband, Randy Sturgill; son, Brett Isaacson; daughter Crystal (Aaron) Cox; two grandchildren: Caleb, and Kelsey; seven siblings: Wahnetah Cox, David Neumann, Steven (Julie) Neumann, Jeff (Kathy) Neumann, Mary (Dean) Mydock, Mike Neumann, and Philip Neumann; beloved family dog, Max; and many other family members and friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Lynette Moore.
Theresa’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at U of M Hospital for their compassion and care they showed Theresa over the 25 years.
