Dear Family,\
\
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to everyone. I've been pretty down after hearing the news. I wish I could be there to say a few words. Feel free to share this with anyone.\
\
First, I remember how close that my father was with Uncle Frank. Often, they would say to each other that they never considered the other a "brother-in-law," just simply a "brother." Shortly after my mother passed away, I remember spending a lot of time around him. He was a constant source of support for my father in that difficult time. My dad could always confide in him and share his problems. Uncle Frank made a difficult time in our lives, much easier.\
\
Also, personally, a lot of who I have become I owe to Uncle Frank. As I grew, I understood why he saved everything. From him, I learned that you earned what you got in life through hard work and that nothing was to be wasted.\
\
In addition, I can credit Uncle Frank for first teaching me how to play the game that later became my livelihood. It was with him on many Sunday afternoons that I first learned what made full house and that flushes beat straights.\
\
I will always remember Uncle Frank as a really fun man who maintained his principles and put family first.\
\
Love,\
\

My prayers and thoughts are with Franks family and friends.Although Frank and I were on different sides of the fence at work him a supervisor of factory 25 and I a union rep. Franks love of his job and labor crew on the 3rd shift was of the upmost, and he was one of the fairest that I ever dealt with in my career and his feelings went beyoud the work place.Frank was a good man and I am sure God is waiting on him to take over Gods labor gang in heaven.I came across Frank after his retirement and his love of his people (labor gang and others) never went away.I am greatfull for knowing him in this world and hope to see him again in heaven. Your dad and husband has been on my mind a lot since Adam called to tell me he had died.\
\
Mr. Burdis (Frank) was always the person high on my list of those I wanted to grow and be like. He was such a devoted and dedicated man, so focused on the welfare and principals of scouting for young people. I was always impressed with how many young men he would tell me about that had or was closed to achieving Eagle Scout. I hope someone kept track, because if there was any record to desire holding in scouting I would think it would be your dad's and husband's. He touched and influenced a lot of lives I have known of since that first day in Cub Scouts at your house so many years ago.\
\
I will bet he was a great supervisor for GM. I truly believe if you can relate to young people you will do a great job with adults. Mr. Burdis related well to young people. In recent years I would enjoy seeing him work with the scouts at our flag retirement function for KofC. The kids would come to and look to him for his approval or counsel voluntarily.\
\
I truly wish I could be there with you tommorrow and Tuesday. My thoughts and prayers will be there in my place. Tonight's Mass will be offered for you, his family.\
\
Respectfully,\
Tom

Frank Burdis was such a great man. I truly enjoyed working with him at the Knights of Columbus hall for many many years. His son Rich was a coach of my son and I can see where Rich got so many of his great qualities. Frank truly will be missed by many many people.

Frank was a great man and if it wasn't for him I would not be who I am today. He always encouraged boys and young men to be the best they could. He is one of the people in my life that I will never forget. Always fair and honest you could depend on him for telling it how it was. He will be missed by many.

Frank was a very good friend that I had the privilege of knowing as I was employed by Martin Funeral Home. Frank came to my support group and instantly became a friend - He was so dedicated to the Scouts and the Seniors at St. Mary. I personally will miss his ever encouraging smile and personal warmth.
