Obituary of Charlotte Buys

Age 86, of Flushing, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at Covenant Care Hospice in Pensacola, Florida. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Doug Kline to officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Charlotte’s memory may direct them towards Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Charlotte was born September 12, 1930, in Mt Morris, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude and Audrey (Allen) Shoens. She and Robert Buys were united in marriage on September 30, 1950, in Mt. Morris. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 2010. For over 30 years, Charlotte worked for Citizens Bank in Flint. She enjoyed collecting dolls, quilting, and doing word search puzzles. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Theresa, and husband, David Clingerman; grandchildren: Lucas, Noah, David, Steven, Bobby, Meagan, Collin, George, Ashley, Ariale, Kimberlee, and Timothy; five great-grandchildren; brother, Claude and wife, Diane Shoens; sister, Nancy Woodbeck; sisters-in-law: Sharon Hunt and Barbara Buys; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Buys, daughter Ann Petherbridge, son-in-law Ron Petherbridge, and brothers-in-law Richard Woodbeck and Ralph Buys.
