Obituary of Craig D'Arcy Smith

Of Chicago formerly of Mt. Morris, age 56, died Monday, November 25, 2013. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Morris Cemetery. Craig's family will be present that the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Tuesday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. On Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Craig was born December 15, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Shirley (D'Arcy) Smith. Craig attended Beecher High School and University of Michigan - Flint. He worked for A/C Spark Plug for many years until transferring to General Motors in Chicago where he retired from in 2006. Craig enjoyed making greeting cards, spending time with family and friends, boating on Lake Michigan, listening to music, cooking and baking, hosting Barbeques, traveling to Amsterdam, visiting family in Michigan. Craig will be sorely missed by his three children, Amy Smith, Daniel and wife Katie Smith and Wendi and husband Stephen Sigourney; parents George and wife Shirley Smith; sister Pamela Smith; brother-in-law Gerald Griffus; four grandchildren, Gracyn and Andrew Smith Peyton and Garrett Sigourney, and many other family members and friends. Craig was preceded in death by his grandparents and best friend Steve Campbell.
