Obituary of Henry Tillis Thompson

Age 66, of Flint, died, Monday, February 27, 2017, at his home in Flint. A funeral service celebrating Henry’s life will take place at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 3, 2017, from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Henry was born August 30, 1950, the son of Jess and Alice (Cole) Thompson. Henry and Faith were united in marriage in May of 1970, in Flint, Michigan. Sadly she predeceased him. He worked for General Motors on the assembly line for 30 years before he retired. Henry was a member of the UAW #659 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles #629. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and repairing small engines. He is survived by his five children: Roy Martin, Ray Martin, Thomas Martin, Lynnette (Eddie) Koviack, and Traci Thompson-Degraff; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister: Joyce (Lydge) Burns; brother: Scott Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters, Shirley Wickline, Sylvia Schrewsbury, and Drema Settle.
