Obituary of Gladys Elizabeth Foster

Gladys Elizabeth (Boughan) Foster, age 90, of Fairgrove, died Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Bay County Medical Care Facility. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 12:00 noon at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Fairgrove. Pastor Jeff Bader will officiate with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Cass River Bible Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gladys was born March 2, 1926, in Deford, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John and Minnie (Forner) Boughan. She and Donald Hunter Foster were united in marriage on August 10, 1953. Gladys worked as a nurse at Caro Community Hospital until her retirement in 1979. She was a charter member of the Cass River Bible Church, and the Gideon Auxillary. In her free time, Gladys enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, and horseback riding and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Jack (Kathy) Foster, and Douglas (Diane) Foster; six grandchildren: Jason, Miranda (Jeremy), Brandon (Heidi), Andrew (Jessica), Adam (Melissa), and Kacy (Aaron); and eleven great-grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; sons Robert and Kim; sisters Goldie, Esther, Bertha, and Mabel; and brothers George, John, Robert, and Chester. The family would like to thank the staff at Caro Community Hospital, and Bay County Medical Care Facility for all their care and support.
