Obituary of J.B. Cole

Age 93, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, February 4, 2017, at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 1:00 pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services of Mt. Morris. Pastor Jim Marcus will officiate. A private burial will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2017, from 10:30 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the contributor’s choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. J.B. was born December 14, 1923, in Webberville, Michigan, to Mr. & Mrs. Milton and Gertrude (Williams) Cole. In 1943, he joined the United States Army Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1945. After his service to his country, J.B. would go on to work for General Motors Fisher Body plant as a Line Man for many years. He and Dixie Marshall were united in marriage on February 12, 1946, in Indiana. J.B. liked reading, bowling and fixing items around the house. Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Dixie Cole; daughter: Sue and husband William Balloon, two granddaughters: Jennifer Gunnels and Victoria Balloon and husband Michael Firestone; one great-grandson: Nathaniel Gunnels; brother and sister: Robert Cole and Ruth Richardson. J.B. was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Hazel Dewey, Ida Mae Howe, and Arline Wines.
