Obituary of James D. Payne

Of Mt. Morris, age 77, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday from 11:00am until 3:00pm then from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. James was born August 3, 1931 in Suchas, Georgia the son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Virginia (Cross) Payne. He and Chlorina were united in marriage November 20, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan at the Fairview Church of Christ. James worked at the Coldwater Rd. General Motors Plant before retiring in 1993. He leaves to cherish his memory wife of 54 years Chlorina, 2 children, Jim and fiancee Linda Burke, Jason and wife Mary; 5 siblings, 3 sisters, Ellen, Louvenia, Delores; 2 brothers, Claude and Doyle and step-mother, Rose.The family would like to thank the staff at McLaren and Select Specality Care.
