Obituary of Larry Neal Allen, Jr.

Larry “Big Bubba” Allen, Jr., age 51, of Mt. Morris, died Sunday, December 25, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 29, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Larry’s family will be present at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services to receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 pm. On Wednesday evening, family, friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm; with a Second Degree Knights of Columbus Service immediately following conducted by Knights of Columbus #4285. On Thursday morning, Larry will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Larry was born November 15, 1965, in Lansing, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Larry and Gayle (Edgette) Allen, Sr. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School, class of 1983. He was a nurse for 10 years as well as a Firefighter for 29 years for Swartz Creek, Coldsprings and Excelsior Townships of Kalkaska County, Michigan. In his free time, Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle and listening to country music. Left to cherish his memory, girlfriend, Heidi Gross; two daughters: Jacqueline Allen, and Lily Reeves; two sons: Michael and Mason Petersen; two sisters: Barb Berthiaume, and Janet (Dave) Lewis; two brothers: Gene Allen, and Eddie (Diane) Kennedy; special nieces and nephews: Lindsey, and Erica Kennedy; David, Logan, and Emma Lewis; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and his niece Jessica Beyer.
