Obituary of Sharon Rose Yandeau

Age 75, of Beecher, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will take place at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services-Mt. Morris, on Friday, December 23, 2016, at 1:00 pm. Pastor Joel Stiff will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 23, 2016, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to PAWS Animal Rescue. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Sharon was born on December 7, 1941, the same day of the Pearl Harbor bombing, in Laurium, Michigan, to Mr. & Mrs. George and Ethel (Hoffenbecker) Shelson. Sharon enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos, bowling and knitting. Sharon participated as a grandmother for Beecher Schools. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Sharon would have done anything to help everyone. She was the life of the party, always smiling and making jokes. She will be greatly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Lisa (Van) Hurley; three grandchildren: Paul (Kym) Bissonnette Jr., Anthony (Madyson) Bissonnette, and Christopher Bissonnette; two great-grandchildren: Zane Bissonnette and Jaymeson Bissonnette; brother and sister: George Joseph Shelson and Clarice Forsman; cousin, Sonny Bykkonen; many nieces, nephews and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred Junior Yandeau, sisters, Barbara Oleary, Lorinda Shelson, Margarget Petite, and Ruth Lenich, sister-in-law and best friend Catharine Gruno and sister-in-law, Mary Shelson. Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Genesys Regional Medical Center for their care and hospitality.
