Obituary of Gregory Thomas Williams

Age 61, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, November 26, 2016, at his home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Genesee United Methodist Church in Genesee with Pastor Karen Williams to officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1:30 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Genesee United Methodist Church Food Pantry. Envelops are available at the church. Gregory was born September 17, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, to Mr. & Mrs. William and Dolores (Lowell) Williams. He graduated from Flint Central with the class of 1973. Gregory graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor of Science. He worked for the Flint Community Schools as a teacher and Community School Director for 20 years. Gregory was a member of the Genesee United Methodist Church in Genesee, MI and volunteered at the churches food pantry. He liked bowling, baseball, and sports. His favorite sport teams were the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and the University of Michigan. Gregory was an outgoing, happy and kind person. He will be remembered as being a conscientious, caring and devoted educator. He will be greatly missed by many. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Courtney Ann Williams, brother, Bill (Nancy) Williams, good friend, Fred Hinz, many aunts, uncles, cousins and his Genesee United Methodist Church family. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may share a memory with the family at the church.
