Obituary of Lois J Grimshaw
Lois Jean (Clauss) Grimshaw went to be with the Lord with her husband at her side on October 29, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lois was born on August 29, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan to Mr. & Mrs. Conrad Henry and Beatrice Roberta (Metteson) Clauss. She graduated from John P. Cole High School in St. Johns, Michigan, Class of 1964. She married David LeRoy Grimshaw on June 3, 1972. Lois worked in the Human Resources Department at Grede Foundries for 15 years, after working for 14 years in Quality Control at Voplex. She enjoyed making quilts, watching birds and squirrels at her bird feeder, and looking for agates on the beaches of the Great Lakes. However, her first love was spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother George Aldin Clauss, brother-in-law George Lewis, and her son Jason Deyo Roles.
She is survived by her husband, David LeRoy Grimshaw; daughters: Melissa (Gerald) Cunningham, and Jessica Sexton; sons: David Grimshaw, and Timothy Grimshaw; grandchildren: Ashley (Joel) Woolman, Dillon Fessler, Joshua (Nicole) David, Timothy Sexton, Isabella Sexton, Adam Sexton, Richie (Samantha) Cunningham, Eric Cunningham, Heather (Jeremy) Frahm, and Jennifer Cunningham; great-grandchildren: Landen Woolman, Bailey Woolman, Abigail Woolman, Kylie David, Wyatt Cunningham, Alyssa Frahm, Caleb Frahm, Jordan Frahm, Elijah Cunningham, Liberty Cunningham, and Ina Cunningham; sisters: Sharon (Frank) Baranic, Connie Iski, Roberta Franks, Nina Lewis; brothers: Archie (Sandy) Clauss, Doug (Sharon) Clauss; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Reverence Hospice for all the loving care they gave.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Vassar Church of the Nazarene, 3822 W. Saginaw Rd. Vassar. Pastor Mary Edgington will officiate with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Lois’ family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Wednesday, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm; On Thursday, from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. On Friday morning, Lois will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Susan B. Komen Foundation or to the Tuscola County Child Advocacy Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
