Obituary of Wilda Alice Foy

Age 70, of Goodrich died Friday, October 21, 2016. In accordance with Wilda’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Wilda was born December 28, 1945, in Flint, she is the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Ralph and Alice (Schmoak) Burhans. Wilda graduated from Ainsworth High School with the class of 1964. She married David Jackson Foy in Flint on April 16, 1966. She worked on the production line for General Motors for many years before becoming UAW/GM Child & Elder Care coordinator. She retired from General Motors after 37 years of service, and was a long time member of UAW Local 599. After retiring, Wilda kept herself active as a board member for Security Federal Credit Union, past board member of Priority Children in Flint, CCAN, former President of Grand Blanc Academy. She also organized Labor Day activates at Cross Roads Village. In her free time, Wilda loved talking about her grandchildren, sailing, gardening, hiking, spending time outdoors. She was known by her family and friends for being artistic and loved to knit. Left to cherish her memory, husband David Jackson Foy; two children: Kimberly Foy, and Ryan (Stephanie) Foy; three grandchildren; six siblings: Laura Foy, Icea (Rick) Clemons, Chris (Jennie) Burhans, Gretchen (Charlie) West, Darwin (Sarah) Burhans, Tammy (Rich) Brindley; brother-in-law, Bill (Jane Garside) Foy; 7 nieces; 10 nephews; family friend, Glenda Bloom; and numerous other family members and friends. Wilda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bill.
