Obituary of Ruth Marie Elledge

Ruth Marie Elledge, age 87, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016. The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris; with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Ruth’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends from 11:30 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to S.A.D. Shelter Animal Donations in Ruth’s honor as she was an extreme dog lover. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ruth was born March 15, 1929, in Shelby, Michigan, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Harry and Anna (Berien) Hosler; raised by her mother Anna and stepfather, Samuel Arion; she graduated from Hoover High School in Flint. She married Loros “Arkie” Elledge in Flint, in 1947. Sadly, he preceded her in death on April 5, 1988. She worked for McDonald Dairy as a Laboratory Technician for 19 years before retiring and moving to Florida. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bingo, taking family trips. Left to cherish her memory are five daughters: Linda (Gary) Riley, Christine Allen, Marsha Elledge, Debbie (Michael) Muron, and Darlene Collins; son: Mark (Julie) Elledge; daughter-in-law, Nancy Elledge; two brothers: Sam and Gene Arion; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Loros “Arkie”, two sons: Craig, and Stephen Elledge, granddaughter Angela (Wolpert) Healy, sister Anita Ranger, two brothers: David Hosler, and Richard Arion, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
