Obituary of Sandra Kay (Allen) White

Age 77, of Gladwin, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at her home in Gladwin. A celebration of Sandra’s life will take place on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services- Genesee Twp. Pastor Jim Salo to officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sandra’s memory to The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance or Kearsley High School Athletic Department. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Sandra was born March 6, 1939, in Flint, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Foster and Doris Allen. She and John White were united in marriage on September 17, 1960. She was the Kearsley Middle School Girls Basketball and Softball coach for 32 years until her retirement in 2007. Sandra was also active in many bowling, and golf leagues, and was always one to stay active in her community. She also spent a lot of her spare time playing cards with her good friend, Barb. Sandra was a beloved friend to many and loved spending time with her friends and family. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John White; three children: Michael and wife, Lynne White, Cynthia and husband, Jeffrey Hemingway, and Jamie and husband, Bryan Connelly; six grandchildren: Chelsea, Andrew, Faith, Eve, Roland, and Zoe; three brothers: Patrick and wife, Jan Allen, Thomas and wife, Francie Allen, and Larry and wife, Mary Allen; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
