Obituary of Ida Mae Elder

Ida Mae Elder, age 76, of Clio, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at her home. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 12:30 pm, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Jerry C. Elder will officiate. In accordance with Ida Mae’s wishes cremation has taken place. Ida Mae was born August 14, 1939, in Flint, the daughter of the late Mrs. & Mrs. Clifford and Florence (Stebbins) Brown; raised by her beloved aunt and uncle, William & Viola Berkey. Ida graduated from Davison High School. She married Wesley “Wes” Elder on November 12, 1955, in Flint. In her free time, Ida Mae loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and needle point. Left to cherish her memory are: her beloved husband of 60 years, Wes; two sons: Dennis Elder of Clio, and Tim (Nancy) Elder of Mt. Morris; five grandchildren: Jason (Tricia) Elder, Jennifer (Chad) Roseberry, Joshua (Kelli) Elder, Tiffany (Todd) Gibbon, and Rebecca Tomkinson; seven great-grandchildren: Justin, Jesse, Hailee, Makenzie, Grayson, Aiden, and Addison; and many other family members. Ida Mae was preceded in death by her parents, and many other family members and dear friends.
