Age 75, of Millington died Friday, May 20, 2016 at her home. A funeral service will take place on Friday, May 27, 2016, at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Vassar. Pastor Mark Beasley to officiate with cremation to follow the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Sydney’s family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mrs. Batrow was born March 18, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Mr. & Mrs. Sydney and Mable (Corwin) Barnes. She married Bill Batrow. Sydney worked as a purchasing agent for Community Mental Health in flint for over 20 years. She was a member of the Millington Red Hat Society, and the Millington Quilting Club. Sydney enjoyed feeding and watching birds, gardening, and quilting.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill Batrow; two daughters Cheryl and husband James Gregory, Patricia and husband, Patrick Turner; four grandchildren: Curtis Gregory and girlfriend, Cari Lane, Eric Gregory, Daniel Turner and fiancé, Chelsie Gallatin, Katy Turner; three great-grandchildren: Logan Turner, Hannah Lane, and Nick Tushim; two brothers: Roger Barnes, and David Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Paul C Harris.
