Obituary of Mike "Mickey" Patrick, Jr.

Mike “Mickey” Patrick Jr. Age 90, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Memory Care Facility of Lodge of Durand. Funeral Service will take place 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Martin Funeral Home, Mt. Morris. Mike’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Charity of Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mickey was youngest of seven children of the late Mike and Helen (Kokinda) Patrick, and was born November 7, 1925, in Flint. Mickey’s mother died when he was 3 months old and was raised by the Kekel family until age 7. He was a proud veteran who served in WWII in the United States Army as a jeep driver and was severely injured by a land mine shortly after D-Day. He spent 2 years in hospitals in Europe before arriving home. Mike worked as an inspector at Buick, retiring after 30 years. Mike enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was member of PLAV Pulaski Post #8, Dom Polski Club of Flint and American Legion Post# 64 of Flint. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his long-time girlfriend Sue Williams, siblings: Anna Kaczmarek, Helen Dubaj, Margaret Lavengood, Susie Budzin, Mary Mitoraj and John Patrick.
