Obituary of Beverly E Helmer

Of Bradenton, Florida, and Mt. Morris, age 80, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Ray McGee will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday, 11:00am to 8:00pm. On Sunday evening, at 7:00pm, family and friends will gather at the funeral home for an Eastern Star Memorial Service conducted by the Flint Chapter # 138 OES. Monday family will receive friends from 12:00noon until time of service at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Shrine Hospital for Children. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Beverly was born April 22, 1928 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. Claude Hart and Mrs. Elise (Schmaler) Stoner. She and Russell A. Helmer Jr. were united in marriage January 24, 1948 in Flint. She was a member and Past Matron of the Flint Chapter #138 OES, the El Said Court #28 Ladies Oriental Shrine, and a volunteer for the McLaren Auxillary. Beverly leaves to cherish her memory her husband Russell, two sons, Daniel and wife Patricia Helmer, and Michael and wife Janet Helmer, five grandchildren, Jeffrey (April) Helmer, Jamie (Scott) Hoffman, Ryan Helmer, Shawn (Chanda) Helmer, and Zachary Helmer, seven great grandchildren, uncle Dean and wife Maxine Schmaler, aunt, Shirley Stedman, sister-in-law Betty Helmer, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
