Obituary of Gladys Irene Heit

Age 100, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Fostorian Manor. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Friday, March 25, 2016, at Martin Funeral Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Township with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Gladys’ family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, then on Friday, from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Gladys was born on November 13, 1915, in Swan Creek Township, Michigan, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Alonzo and Anna (Wahl) Broughton. She was married to Joseph Heit. Sadly he preceded her in death. In her free time, Gladys enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching baseball and going to the casino. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are two children: Harold and wife, Beverly Heit and Joanne and husband, John Flynn; daughter-in-law, Marlene Heit; sister-in-law, Irene Broughton; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, son Robert, grandson Tim, granddaughter Jill, brother Lee and sister Marie.
