Obituary of Doris K. Sorensen

Age 80, of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at her home. A Celebration of Doris’ Life will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Doris’ family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Doris was born June 24, 1935, in Kingsport, Tennessee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse F. and Lakie E. (Kern) Fleenor. She graduated from Flint Northern with the Class of 1953. Doris worked as a pharmacy technician for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to Arizona, Tennessee, Myrtle Beach, Jamaica and Utah, reading medical and philosophy books, Judo and flying. Left to cherish her memory are: her children; Michael and wife, Valarie Fleenor, Frank and wife, Beth Sorensen, Jr., Tod and wife, Laura Sorensen, Lat and wife, Margie Sorensen, ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry and wife, Marsha Fleenor, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, especially those in Tennessee, and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, son, Rod, and her grandson, Justin, in 2011.
