Obituary of John W. Jordan, Jr.

Age 64, of Flushing, MI, passed away March 9, 2016, at home surrounded by family and friends. John was born the son of John and Vivian Jordan, in Mobile, AL on September 19, 1951. His family came first to Flint, MI and finally settled in Mt. Morris where he attended Mt. Morris High School and graduated in 1969. John and his wife, Sandy, are owners of New Horizons RV Center, Linden Road, Flint, MI. John’s hobby was his job and his compassion for the business was reflected in his work ethic and dedication to his loyal customers. He was a skilled craftsman who could build or fix just about anything. Outside of work John enjoyed being at home with his family, playing with his grandchildren, fishing, card games, yard work and golfing. He is survived by wife, Sandy; stepsons Darrin Peterson (Nancy), David Peterson (Denise), Darian Walker (Jessica); stepdaughter Amanda Perrault (Jeremy); brothers Bob Jordan (Barb) and Bill Jordan (Donna); sister in law Penny Ross (Doug); many nieces, nephews, and great friends. John was a “super grandpa” to Sara Thayer (Chris), Stephanie Peterson, Meghan Wohlsheid (David), Melodey Aguirre (Rito), Russell Garrison (Caroline), Elizabeth Garrison and Samantha Walker; “world’s best papa” to Addeline, Isabella, Brody and Walker Perrault; and great grandpa to Cara, Kaylor and Anne Marie Wohlsheid. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter. His loss has created a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him – he was one of a kind. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22 at Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. John’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Monday, March 21 from 2 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family to help cover medical expenses incurred during John’s long battle with cancer.
