Age 84, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Genesee Township. Everett’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Wednesday, from 10:30 am until time of service at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Everett was born October 28, 1931 in Stanhope, Iowa, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Hubert and Ellen (Wentzel) Skeel. He and Muriel Smith were united in marriage on August 8, 1958. He was employed at General Motors as a production worker for 39 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, knitting booties for the babies at Hurley Medical Center, and taking naps. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Muriel; daughters, Ellen Skeel, Connie Drummond and husband, William and Janet Helms and husband, Brad; grandchildren, Krystal, Michael and wife, Tracey, Melissa and Brittany; great grandchildren, Ethan, Olivia, Tauriel and Macayla; sister-in-law, Barbara; and many other family members and friends. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; three, brothers; one, sister and one brother-in-law.
