Obituary of Leo Rohde

Age 92, of Mt Morris died Friday, February 12, 2016 at his home in Mt Morris. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday February 16, 2016 at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Genesee Twp. Pastor Randy Shultz will officiate with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Leo’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Leo was born January 24, 1924, in Oberagavo, Poland. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Franz and Cecilia (Lawrenz) Rohde. He and Katharine Schuller were united in marriage on October 24, 1949; she preceded him in death on October 10, 1992. Leo retired from Genesee Painting. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where he made many great friends. Leo enjoyed fishing, gardening at his home in Mt. Morris, and playing his harmonica. He is survived by his five children: Veronika and husband, George Zoebl, Reinhard and wife, Brenda Rohde, Barbara Mohler, Monica Jones and George Fenner, Ericka and husband, James Brigance; family friend, Bruce Weaver; nine grandchildren: Nathan Zoebl, Natalie and husband, Chad Waits, Kyle Rohde, Kevin Rohde, Paul Mohler, Amanda and husband, Matt Vires, Stephanie Mohler, Eric Jones and Kim Sanders, Madison Brigance; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leo was preceded in death by his wife Katharine, his parents, and grandson Christopher Jones. Leo’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Gail, Claudia, and the staff at Reverence Hospice.
