Obituary of Garth Gregory Severn

Of Mt. Morris, age 44, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at McLaren-Flint. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, January 23, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Greg’s family will be present at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services - Genesee Township, on Friday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. On Saturday morning, Greg will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Clio Manor or the Children’s Miracle Network. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and at church. Greg was born in Flint, on August 13, 1971, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Garth and Jeannine (Laux) Severn. Greg graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1989. He worked for FTE Automotive for 21 years. Greg loved haunted houses and anything to do with horror movies. Each fall he worked at the Clio Manor as a haunted fireman. He enjoyed watching baseball and football and he also liked going to concerts. Greg was a hardworking man and had a big heart, he was kind to everyone and will be truly missed. Left to cherish his memory are, his mother, Jeannine Severn; brother Jeff and wife, Denise Severn; aunts: Cheryl and husband, Tom Wilson, Diane and husband, Randy Long, Julie and husband, Chuck Carter, Lori and husband, Darrel Crossen, Sandy and husband, Fred Edenburn and Sharon Hauser; uncle, Jim and wife, Debbie Severn; niece, Sophia; nephew, Connor; his dog Anya, many close cousins, his haunt crew, high school friends: Paul Wright and Rod Eastburn, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Garth “Bud” Severn, grandparents, Larry and Gloria Laux and Claude and Mary Severn, uncle, Kelly Langworthy.
