Obituary of Roxanne (Thwing) Matheson

Of Mt. Morris, age 60, died Monday, December 21, 2015, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter to officiate with cremation to follow. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Genesee Twp. On Monday, December 28, 2015 from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm, and at church from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Roxanne’s memory to the Pave The Way Fund at Messiah Lutheran Church. Roxanne was born August 7, 1955, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sr. and Phyllis (Wright) Thwing. She and Timothy Matheson were united in marriage on October 20, 1973. She was the Owner of Matheson’s Classic Interiors in Mt. Morris since 1988. Roxanne was an extremely proud grandmother and cherished every opportunity she had to spend with them. Roxanne was devoted to her religion and was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed cooking and made sure nobody left her house hungry. Left to cherish her memory are husband: Timothy Matheson; two daughters: Jennifer Shew and husband Jeremy, and Andrea Lawson and significant other Jason; Mother, Phyllis Thwing; two grandchildren: Lillian Lawson, and Jack Shew; Brother, Donald Thwing Jr. and wife Lee; two sisters: Pam Brown and husband Greg, and Cindy Kruck and husband John; Mother-in-law, Shirley Matheson; Sister-in-law, Tami Carlson and husband Dennis; Brother-in-law, Tom Matheson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many special friends from Brown’s Landing RV Park in Tawas City. Roxanne was preceded in death by her Father, Donald Sr., Father-in-law, Thomas Matheson; Brother-in-law Ted Matheson; Sister-in-law, Teri Brockett, and niece, Genevieve Nahirnyj.
