Obituary of Barbara Nellett

Age 91, of Mt. Morris, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at her home. A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Barbara’s family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 12 noon until the time of service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
Barbara was born July 18, 1924 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Florence (Jester) Bennett. She was educated locally and attended Flint Northern High School. She and Kenneth Nellett were united in marriage on July 1, 1940 in Flint. He preceded her in death in December of 1982. Barbara’s career path would lead her to the automotive industry, where she worked as a machine operator for Ternstedt and member of UAW # 326 for 28 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris for 60 years and was a part of the Ruth Circle. Barbara enjoyed traveling the world, bowling and gardening. She will be missed.
Left to cherish her memory are: three children, Richard and wife Patricia Nellett, Sharon Minniear and Phyllis and husband Keith Warington, and Sharon Minniear; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, sister, Evelyn Jackson,and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Kenneth Nellett, son-in-law, Tom Minniear, daughter-in-law, Ann Nellett, a brother, Malcomb and two sisters, Virginia Bennett and Rosemary Brabbs.
