Harold C. Allen, Jr., age 61, of Burton died Sunday, November 29, 2015. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Twp.; with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Harold’s family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm; Thursday, from 10:00 am until time of funeral at 1:00 pm.
Harold was born March 12, 1954, in Saginaw, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Harold and Wymadene (Powers) Allen. He was educated locally in the Mt. Morris School District until 1971 and served in the United States Marines. He married Debra Slough on January 24, 1986, in Clio. Harold received a Bachelor’s of Applied Science from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1995. He worked as a Tool & Die Maker for General Motors until his retirement in 2002, and worked for I.R.A.C as a substance abuse counselor for the hearing impaired. He was a member of UAW Local #659, and a longtime member of VFW Post #225. In his free time, Harold enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, traveling, watching NASCAR, and training horses to harness race.
Left to cherish his memory, wife Debra; four children: Matthew H. (Olivia Briskey) Allen, Ashlee R. Allen, Aimee L. (Dale) Hare, and Eric J. (Heather) Harker; five grandchildren: Raenia R. (Hare) Endicott, Dainon J. Harker, Abagalee M. Hare, Amaya L. Harker, and Hannah J. Hare; two brothers: Alex (Sherry) Allen, and Ronald (Linda) Allen; sister Betty McConnel; and many other family members and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents.
