Obituary of Helen Lee Morse

Of Mt. Morris, age 88, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Serenity Assisted Living. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Flint Central Church of the Nazarene in Flint. Pastor Steve Anthony will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, on Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Monday morning, Helen will be taken to church to lie in state from 12:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Compassionate Ministries at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Helen was born November 21, 1927, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex and Lula (Burtrum) White. She and Ronald Morse were united in marriage on March 12, 1949 in Bowling Green, Ohio. After graduating high school she went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Teaching from University of Michigan. Faith was very important to Helen she was involved in many activities at her church, she was in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher for 42 plus years. She was an exceptional cook and always enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren, she liked to sew and loved making crafts. She will be dearly missed by her family and her church. Left to cherish her memory children, Ralph Alan Morse, and Jeanine Marie Morse-Ralph; grandchildren, Rebecca, Joshua, Rachel, Bethany, Amanda and Seth; brother Claude and wife Joyce White, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Ronald; parents; and daughter-in-law Cynthia.
