Obituary of John A. Bednarski

John Andrew Bednarski, of Mt. Morris, age 66, suddenly passed away Friday, November 13, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Monday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. On Tuesday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. On Wednesday morning, John will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may make contributions in John’s memory to the charity of your choice. John was born in La Jolla, California, on November 19, 1948, the son of the late John and Bernice (Blaszkowski) Bednarski and he has resided in Mt. Morris most of his life. John was a member of the Tri City Association of the Deaf club. He was employed by Delphi Chassis and was a member of UAW Local #467 Chapter until his retirement in 2004. In his free time, John enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He leaves to cherish his memory his two children; Tim (Melanie) and Becky, grandchildren; Jacob, Joshua, John and Jason, uncle, Ben Blaszkowski, as well as many cousins. He also leaves his longtime companion, Laurie Long. John was preceded in death by his parents as well as several aunts and uncles.
