Obituary of Ronald "Butch" R. Dickenson

Ronald “Butch” Dickenson, age 68, of Vassar died Wednesday, September 30, 2015. The funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar, 1148 W. Saginaw Rd. Vassar, Michigan 48768. With graveside military honors at Tuscola Township Cemetery. Ron’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm: Wednesday, from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Vassar Military Support Group. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ronald “Butch” was born July 24, 1947, in Ludington, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Clyde and Pricilla (Phillips) Dickenson. He married Loretta Ann Ezell on October 26, 1969, in Flint, Michigan. Sadly, Loretta preceded him in death on June 3, 2008. Ron proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until receiving a Purple Heart award and honorable discharge in 1968. He worked skilled trades for Buick for 36 years until retiring. Ron was a member of UAW Local #599. In his free time, Ron was a Cub Scout Leader. He also enjoyed spend time with his family in Ludington, painting and riding his Harley. Left to cherish his memory, sons Todd W. (Ann) Dickenson, Tony P. (Melissa) Dickenson, Steven P. (Jamie) Dickenson and twins: Matthew and Michael Dickenson; grandchildren: Nicole (Eric) Molina, Ronnie, Katie, Austin, Erin, Jenna, Ava, Mckenzie, Kellen, Kennedy and Sophia; great-granddaughter Eden; siblings: Joan (Gary) Haiss, and Manual “Manny” (Popi) Sanchez, Sr., and many other family members and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife Loretta and two brothers: Raymond and Duane.
