Obituary of Melvin L. Schneider

Age 76, of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at McLaren-Flint. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Twp. Pastor Ron Scott will officiate, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Melvin’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am the time of service at 1:00 pm. Melvin was born April 28, 1939 in Rose City, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and Elva (Westrick) Schneider. He and Martha Conners were united in marriage on October 9, 1965, in Rose City. Melvin served in the U.S Navy, he also worked for General Motors for 35 years as a die setter. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed spending time with his family and spending time up north to go hunting and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 50 years, Martha Schneider, children, Darren and wife, Debbie Schneider; Chris and wife, Denise Schneider; and Vicki Schneider; brothers, Leo and wife, Sandy Schneider and Skip and wife, Ruth Ann Fisher; sisters, Virginia McQuiston and Carolyn and husband, Dale Thompson; grandchildren, Jessica and husband, Mike Wolverton; Jennifer Schneider; Alicia and husband, William Wolton and Amber and husband, Kevin Yates; great-grandchildren: Paige, Evangaline, Liam and Bentley, brother-in-law, Bob Kartes and sister-in-law, Beverly Schneider Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Harold, Elmer and his wife, Norma and Ervin and sisters: Doris and her husband, Bob Rau and Margaret Kartes.
