Obituary of Eva M. (Petricevic) McNenly

Age 95, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 in her home in Clare. Catholic Mass will be held 11:00 am, Friday, August 7, 2015, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mt. Morris. Father Bill Rutowski will officiate with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Martin Funeral Home, Cremation & Tribute Services- Genesee Township, on Thursday, August 6, 2015, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Family and friends will gather to pray the Rosary on Thursday at 7:00 pm. On Friday Eva will be taken to church where she will lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to Mid-Michigan Health Hospice of Clare, Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Eva was born March 12, 1920 to the late Paul and Victoria (Ruzak) Petricevic in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Leo M. McNenly on June 28, 1941 in Saginaw. Sadly he preceded her in death on March 14, 2006. Eva went to the Indiantown School where she was the salutatorian. Leo and Eva settled in Mt. Morris where they raised their three daughters. They retired to East Tawas and lived there for 30 years. Eva belonged to the St. Mary’s Altar Society and helped with the Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing euchre and pinochle, listening to big band and country music, and traveling the country in the RV or spending the winters in their home away from home in Mission, Texas.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kathleen (Ronald) Hradecky, Madelyn (William) Trainor, and Victoria McNenly; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Jason, Kristi, Elizabeth, Gerald, Sabreena, and Neal; and nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and six siblings: Eli, Catherine, Anne, Julia, Rose, and Gasper.
Eva’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Mid-Michigan Health Hospice of Clare. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations be sent to this hospice center. Envelopes are provided at the funeral home and church.
