Obituary of Jack T. Colden II

Age 48, of Mt. Morris died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at University Hospital in Ann Arbor. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Township. Jack’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm; Saturday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Rev. David Miller will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jack was born November 18, 1966, in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jack and Miriam (Ives) Colden. He married Sue Boyd on April 24, 2002, in Davison, Michigan. Jack proudly served in the United States Navy for four years until receiving his honorable discharge. He worked as a truck driver for Allied Berger Van Lines, based in St. Paul, Minnesota for nine years; and was a proud member of the OOIDA Trucking Association. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, carpentry, working with his hands, cooking, yardwork and bonfires. Left to cherish his memory, wife Sue; two sons: Aaron Colden and Andy Landon; his mother Miriam Colden; two sisters: Jody and Cynthia Colden; brother Michael Colden; and many aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his father Jack Colden; two brothers Matthew & Craig Colden. Jack’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the surgical ICU staff at University Hospital for all the care they gave.
